A terrible fall has taken the life of his queen and left the king to raise his newborn daughter. The years have past and now it is time for the Princess Abigail to wed and insure the stability of the throne. In a proud, but inebriated, moment King Zahn foolishly compares his daughter's beauty to that of the Olympian goddesses.

Waking the next morning in an open meadow, Zahn discovers the keep and everyone else inside have vanished. Months later it is revealed that all are safe but trapped in a timeless mist. Rescue attempts are made over the centuries but are unsuccessful.

Finally, sensing a disaster brewing on the horizon, the fates intercede and introduce a new player to the game and the simple life of a 7-year-old son of the village blacksmith is upended when he is selected to leave his family and train as Athena's newest holy warrior. Though Clovis has endured years of intense training, he is hardly prepared as he and his mentor, Warhawk, embark on a perilous quest to rescue a cursed keep and it's inhabitants from the clutches of a jealous, evil goddess. The keep sleeps in the mists of time and only makes a centennial appearance for 24 hours before slipping away to be unreachable for another 100 years.

Forming alliances along the way, Clovis and Warhawk assault the evil within the keep to break the curse by rescuing the object of the goddess' jealousy, the Princess Abigale. Only Clovis and Abigail manage to burst forth from the keep's gate just as everything around them is swallowed by the mist. Finding that the curse will only be lifted when Abigail is reunited with her father, Clovis must now draw on all his training and luck to avoid the goddess' minions and travel back to King Zahn's castle. Failure in his mission would result in the keep, as well as Warhawk and the other adventurers, being trapped forever in the mists.
